All over GBLUES

Dedicated Shannon and Clara sold extra tees the 2 days before the transplant. Wednesday was "wear blue for Marian and Audrey day" at their school. Whether superstar shirt or other parts of their wardrobe, the school was "like an ocean". The secretary used the "snow day" system to call every home to remind them, and teachers report that even their don't-ever-tell-me-what-to-wear tough big boys were very assiduous in their "we have to remember!"-ing. I'll show Marian's blue class in an upcoming post.

I can without hesitation say that the best thing about our move to our little PA town is the girls' school. It's a small (one class/grade) lab school at the university where my husband teaches: Grace B. Luhrs University Elementary School. I certainly have the impression that all of the schools in our district are great ones (Marian's beloved Mrs. Serr, this year's teacher, is on loan from one of them), but the intimate scale of our school has been particularly nourishing for our girls, particularly with Marian's needs. I joke that she "gets away with a lot", but that's a light way of saying that she is beloved and gets all of the accommodations she needs. And all of the office staff and teachers have been so patient with my constant comings and goings while I tramp in and out to feed her and bring new clothes when she goes through 3 shirts from feeding tube leaks. Just really kind.

flooding the halls of Park City High School

Even those not familiar with Utah know Park City: it's the site of the Sundance Film Festival and home to some of the best powder in the world. Park City is more important to our family because some of our favorite people (I posted their superstar family, all in red, earlier) live there. Matt is an English teacher at Park City High School, and 77 of his students readily joined him in support of our little darlin'.

Thanks to each of these students. They're fine ones: just take a look! (more photos promised)

Washington, D.C.

with Maya in their lush Florida garden

Lucky. It's dark and rainy in Philly...not that I've been outside...

conquering Eagle Mountain

with the vivacious Vimahi family, out adventuring in their pretty Utah Valley community (Please pay proper attention to their bike, because !!!). I also had to adda little Vernal petroglyph adventuring with their Aunt Lisa and Uncle Anthony; Lisa sent these photos to Marian with a sweet paragraph on her feelings about Marian's "Wonderful World".

In Salt Lake City, Utah

with the Anderson children and their wonderful mother, Mary Anne, a longtime friend from our U of Utah glory days in the cinderblock castle that is University Village. I'm trying to sell my little sister on living there. I warn: you'll see it and probably cry, then live there and love it. The little community built around a playground and lots of swings was the perfect place for a young & new mother to live. Plus, community gardens :).

And another bad collage celebrating their superstar sweetness. All three working on signs for her room (which arrived today!), and pink Superstar Grace, insisting on being a sleeping superstar as well. Lots of the littlest superstars are especially dedicated to their shirts; I've heard some sweet stories.

seeing the sights in Paris!

With the kind and lovely Juliann (meet her at her crafty knitting blog, http://thesickchick.wordpress.com/) in Paris! Beautiful sights for the superstar shirt, indeed.Having not been to Paris myself, I hope I get these right, but this particular superstar shirt got to view (clockwise from top left): the Place des Vosges, the Sacre Coeur Basilica, the view from that Basilica, the Jardin des Tuilleues (at the Louvre, within view of the Eiffel Tower), and the Notre Dame Cathedral. Lucky shirt!

If I was adept at Marian's new computer and/or not tired, this would be a cool collage instead of a weak one. My apologies to Juliann...)
